Training for 5k, 10k, half or full marathon

Training for a 5k or 10k is an excellent place to start for beginners new to running, or for those of you who want to step up to half or full marathon. If you like speed, then 5ks and 10ks are definitely for you. Our training programmes are kept simple but effective, so you achieve your goals with intelligent, effective training methods focusing on quality not quantity - so no wasted injury inducing junk miles! If you need to get fit, lose weight, train for a charity race or simply improve your race times, you will become a lean mean running machine with our programme.

Training for the marathon
is about the journey as well as the destination; we think it is possibly the most underestimated sport of all. The training requires good time management, immense dedication and self discipline - by the time you get to the start line you will have a passion for running. We believe that if you want to run the marathon then you should run it to the best of your ability and run it well, leaving nothing to chance. It may be the only marathon you ever run, so excel yourself and enjoy the experience. If you are new to running, then we strongly advise you to start with the 5k programme; if you have been running for a year or more, then subject to assessment, you should be able to start on the half marathon programme, and eventually the marathon. We aim to get you across the line on the least mileage possible.

Our running programmes include

Bio/mechanical running postural analysis

Base training and treadmill training

Heart/rate training and speed work

Hill training and core work

Strength and conditioning plus flexibility

Injury prevention and equipment advice

Pre-race preparation recovery
